Square watermelons were created in Japan by designer Tomoyuki Ono in 1978. Square watermelons were created to prevent it from rolling and make it easier to cut.  Square watermelons were originally invented in Ginza. Now, it is commonly grown in the United States. The procedure of making square watermelons is rather simple.

Growing a square watermelon requires constant sunlight.  Therefore, the watermelon must be planted in a place that receives sunlight throughout the day.

Next, nutrients and minerals must be added to make the soil from which the watermelons are grown are,  Then, the soil should be warmed up using either black plastic or landscaping fabrics.

The right time to plant the seeds is when the soil reaches 70 Fahrenheit (40 celsius degrees). Next, using a rake or shovel, a 30 to 90-cm-deep hill should be created

Within those hills, seeds will be planted. There should be 3 seeds in each hole and the seeds should be 30 centimeters apart. When you are done planting, each hill should be covered with a layer of mulch. Mulch helps the watermelon grow because it keeps the soil moist and warm.

Next, purchase a square plastic box and place the healthiest watermelon into the plastic box.

As the watermelon gets bigger, it will become the shape of the mold. Once the watermelon is ripe, take the watermelon out of the box and harvest the square watermelon.
