Economics essays are like a textbook that helps people make rational choices through economic thinking and design the future systematically. If we look at the world through economic thinking, we can better understand the meaning of various phenomena we encounter in our daily lives, and furthermore, we can bring about new changes. This article will review ‘Economic Essays for Teenagers’, by pinpointing the main points of each chapter, and what I, as a critic, felt throughout reading it.

Chapter 1, introduces the world of economics, examining the meaning of economics and introduces key concepts such as rational choice, opportunity cost, efficiency, as well as the difference between economics and management: economics is a theory-oriented study closer to social science, and business administration is an applied study closer to practical skills. Chapter 2, the history of economics, great economists who have a great impact to this day are introduced, including things to learn in world history time.

Chapter 3, the core part of the market economy, explained the contents related to demand, supply, and profits, such as oil prices, stock prices, discount prices, and minimum prices. Through this, we can understand why and by what process the prices of products that can be found around us are. In Chapter 4, the secret of economics is unlocked by looking at the market, it is possible to understand how the economic phenomena that appear depending on the type of market are different. Through this, it gave the power to strengthen economic thinking by applying various economic principles to the market of interest.

Last but not least, in Chapter 5, National Economic Issues, covered the story of identifying economic policies promoted by the government, evaluating them, and expressing opinions. It also examines the gap between rich and poor, inflation, and unemployment.

With the mindset that it could soon become a problem for me and us, it became an opportunity to think about ways and policies to cope with the economic problems that Korea is currently experiencing and furthermore, the economic problems of the world. While the title of this book is for teenagers, it really is for everyone. Despite the fact that it contained a lot of information, it isn’t a demanding book for you to try.
